A hands-on sorting activity to use when introducing informative writing.
When writing an informative text, students must be able to build a description of their topic, based on facts.
Cut out and laminate the descriptive phrases (there are 30 of these). Distribute these among the students.
As a class, match each phrase to the topic it describes. The topics included in this teaching resource are:
- sharks
- astronauts
- smartphones.
