A fun and challenging game to use when learning how to use the jump strategy to solve subtraction problems.

Use this teaching resource when securing your students’ knowledge and understanding of using the jump strategy for solving computation involving subtraction. This game is ideal to use in small groups of 4 during numeracy groups.

This fun game includes:

  • an instruction card
  • question and answer cards (two levels of difficulty)
  • a number line template for students to show their working.

Print and laminate the game instruction card. Print, cut and laminate the question and answer cards. Print one number line template for each player. Please note that the number line templates may be laminated for re-use.  Alternatively, they can be printed multiple times for single use and stuck into student workbooks.
