Use these letter cards when students are learning their upper case and lower case letters.

Print out the resource on cardstock for added durability and cut out the cards. Store them in a resealable bag to be used again and again.

This resource can be used in a few different ways!

Alphabet Memory Game

Students play this game in pairs. Place the cards face down in an array. Students take turns flipping over two cards. If the letters match, they get to keep the pair of cards and have another turn. If the letters do not match, the student flips them back over and it is Player 2’s turn. Play continues until all of the letter matches have been made.

Alphabet Go Fish

This game is best when played with 2-4 players and two sets of this resource. Shuffle the cards and give each player 7 cards. Leave the remaining cards in a pile facedown in the middle of the playing area. Player 1 asks a specific player for a matching upper case or lower case letter. If that player has the letter, they must give it to the asking player. If the player does not have the letter, the asking player must draw a card. The player with the most matching letter pairs wins.

Solo Letter Match

This game is played with 1 player. The student lays down all of the upper case letters (in alphabetical order if they can) face up. Then, they place all of the matching lower case letters on top.

Partner Match with Upper and Lower Case Letters

This activity can be used to match students for different activities in the classroom. Hand each student a letter card. Then, have them stand up with their letter and find their letter match. The classmate with their match is their partner.

This resource is great to use as a reading groups activity or to use with your students as flashcards in small groups.
