Students collect and count money amounts involving both notes and coins while playing this engaging board game.
This collaborative maths game is ideal for teaching your students to recognise and know the value of different denominations of coins and notes in British currency.
Preparing the Resource
Print the game board, objective cards and currency cards (coins and notes) on thick card for increased durability. You may wish to print multiple copies of the currency cards so there are enough of these for a multiple-player game.
How to Play
- Choose an objective card. This will be the focus of the game’s play.
- Player 1 rolls the dice, then collects money cards that equate to the amount represented on the space they have landed on.
- Play continues with each player taking their turn. Once all players have reached the finish, determine which player is the winner (depending on the objective card drawn at the commencement of play).
Do you have some students who aren’t quite ready to calculate money amounts using both coins and notes? Why not try our version of this game that uses notes only?
