Explore Paragraph Structure for Information Reports

Paragraphs are an essential component of information reports. Paragraphs help organise information logically, making it easier for readers to follow and understand the content. When each paragraph focuses on a single idea or topic, information can be easily digested by the reader without confusion.

This poster and planning template has been designed by the Teach Starter team to help students understand the significance of well-structured paragraphs in information reports and guide them in crafting clear and coherent informative paragraphs.

Poster

The content on the poster is as follows:

  • Introduce the subject using a clear topic sentence.
  • State facts about the subject in a logical order.
  • Describe the subject using appropriate technical vocabulary.
  • Conclude with a statement about the subject.
  • Focus on only one aspect of the subject per paragraph.

Planning Template

The planning template contains boxes for students to record the following:

  • Introductory sentence
  • Fact 1
  • Fact 2
  • Fact 3
  • Concluding sentence

This is a fantastic resource.. Would it be possible to get a planning sheet to go along with it? Similar to the one that is with the PEEL your paragraphs resource??
