A parts of speech wall display that includes posters and word wall cards.

Display this set of posters and word wall cards in your classroom as an overview of nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs.

The Grammar Gremlins are here to help your students with their understanding of parts of speech.

Grammar Posters

There are four posters included in this resource. Each covers a particular part of speech, with short descriptions and examples of each.

  • Nouns – common nouns, proper nouns and personal pronouns.
  • Adjectives – describe what kind, which one or how many.
  • Verbs – action verbs, saying verbs, thinking verbs and relating verbs.
  • Adverbs – describe how, how often, where or when.

Word Wall Examples

Each Grammar Gremlin has also made word wall cards with examples of their words. These helpful colour-coded cards can be placed below each corresponding poster to help students with their writing. Add additional words to the word wall using the editable Microsoft Word version available for download.

Grammar Banner

The parts of speech banner wraps everything up in a neat little package. It provides a clear heading for the display. Instructions for printing the banner across multiple pages can be found at our help desk here.
