Use these flashcards when learning how to read and spell CVC, CVVC and CCVC words. These transport themed flashcards are ideal to use with upper year students who are consolidating their knowledge and understanding of phonics.

Use the scooter ramp and the flashcards to create an interactive classroom display that tracks the progress of individual students or that of a small group.

Print, align the three pages and laminate the scooter ramp. Place a small number of flashcards at the start of the ramp and move the flashcards to the end of the ramp when they have been mastered.

    How many words should be placed in the beginning of the ramp for an 8 years old?

      Hi Maria, It's tricky to respond to this question the answer is dependent on the ability of the individual student. I would start with a small number of words, (eg. 4-6), and monitor your students' progress. If they are experiencing success, then the number of words can be increased. The most important is to build student confidence and self-esteem. And to have fun! I hope that this helps. Ali
