Goal-setting is a powerful way to do just that – it helps pupils outline their academic and personal goals and teaches them the value of planning and accountability. What Are SMART Goals? 

SMART is an easy-to-follow framework for setting goals. A SMART goal should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound. By setting a goal, an individual is making a plan for achieving a specific personal goal. The elements in the framework work together to create a goal that is carefully planned, executed and tracked.

To help you get started with your SMART Goal-setting in your classroom, we’ve created a handy, kid-friendly SMART goal-setting template for kids. Using this template, pupils will set a single goal for the school year or term and work to decide how they will meet that goal, when they hope to achieve it, and how they will track their progress.
