Design Santa a new sleigh using 2D Shapes with a fun Christmas maths worksheet.
Santa Needs a New Sleigh – Christmas 2D Shapes
This Christmas, get in the holiday spirit with a holiday maths task!
Santa’s New Sleigh is a fun way to bring a bit of extra engaging maths practise into your classroom during the holiday season.
Pupils will design Santa’s new sleigh using his specifications. They must draw the sleigh using the number and types of 2-dimensional geometric shapes required (triangles, rectangles, squares, etc.).
It’s the Perfect Christmas Maths Activity!
This activity is great for Lower Key Stage 2 pupils who are ready to move beyond traditional shapes and learn about more complex 2D shapes, such as trapezoids, pentagons, and rhombi!
Give your pupils the task of designing a new sleigh for Santa that doesn’t include the reindeer. As an extension, have your pupils write a procedural text explaining how to operate the sleigh or a persuasive text convincing Santa how great it is.
This will make a great holiday maths centre activity for your pupils.
