Spooky Subtraction! A Halloween Maths Game for Lower Key Stage 2

Spooky season is finally here! So that means it’s definitely time to break out the spooky resources in every learning area.

Send your pupils on a spooky adventure that’ll put their 3-digit subtraction skills to the test. Prepare them to uncover the mystery Halloween picture with an interactive Google Slides or PowerPoint subtraction game!

Practise Triple-Digit Subtraction with Regrouping With Ease!

This game allows pupils to practise subtracting three-digit numbers with regrouping. It consists of a series of 20 subtraction equations. They must solve each equation to reveal one square of the image at a time.

Here’s what you need to do to use this resource

  1. Download the file type of your choice. Make a copy of the file (if using the Slides version) or download the PPT version.
  2. Assign the activity to your pupils in Google Classroom or another LMS system for the slides version. Alternatively, play the game as a whole-class activity by projecting the slides onto your board and having your pupils solve on mini whiteboards.
  3. This activity runs in presentation/slideshow mode. So once the file is open, click present, and you are ready to play!
