Christmas Tree Classroom Display – Tessellation Project
Is your classroom feeling a little too hectic? This printable Christmas tree tessellation classroom display makes the days leading up to Christmas break a bit brighter. Your pupils will love colouring and decorating individual trees, which are then combined to form a larger Christmas tree display.
What are Tessellations?
People use different names to refer to them – mosaic pictures, tilings, etc. The word tessellation comes from the Latin word ‘tessera,’ which refers to a small stone cube used in mosaic floors and patterns. A tessellation usually refers to a specific mathematical concept where a given pattern can be repeated repeatedly without crossing any of its boundaries or leaving gaps.
