A sorting activity to teach students about using a filter when speaking with others.
Discovering social rules, such as using a filter when speaking with others, can be tough for young children. They must be taught that before they speak, they must consider how their words might affect another person.
Use this resource when teaching your students the social skill of ‘think it or say it’.
Students will read a thought on a task card, decide whether it should be kept inside their head (think it) or if it can be said out loud (say it), and place it on the appropriate mat. This activity can be done in small groups or as a whole-class activity.
This resource includes:
- 1 x ‘Think It’ mat
- 1 x ‘Say It’ mat
- 22 scenario cards
- 8 blank cards.
