Who’s in Your Circle? An Easy Icebreaker Activity

It’s that time of year! Back to school means a fresh group of pupils who need to get to know one another. Get your pupils talking, writing, and sharing what makes them unique with the ever-popular “Who’s in Your Circle?” icebreaker activity.

How does this activity work? For starters, it works much like the typical ‘Pass the Paper’ activity. To complete this activity, pupils will:

  1. Write their name on the paper and fill in their favourite things in the centre of each circle.
  2. Pass their paper to the left.
  3. When they get a new paper, write their names in the  ❤ ring if they like the same thing as the owner.
  4. If they don’t like the same thing as the owner, they will write their name in the ✘ ring.
  5. Pupils will keep passing and writing on other pupils’ handouts until they get their own paper back.

Now, when they have their papers back, they can check to see who’s in their circle and has similar interests. What a fun way to meet new friends!
