It lends itself particularly well to comprehension skills such as making predictions, inferences and connections. Here are some activities you might like to complete in conjunction with this video:
- Connecting – The little girl in the video is baking gingerbread men with her father. Ask the students to think about a time when they did a special activity with a family member and share this experience with the class.
- Inferring – The gingerbread man bravely escapes the house when the little girl isn’t looking. Have the students use clues from the story to make inferences about The Gingerbread Man’s character traits.
- Predicting – Have the students predict what might happen to The Gingerbread Man next. Will the wolf eat him? Will he try to cross the stream? Will someone come and help him?
