Manage Anxious Feelings with the Worry Waterfall
When left to develop, worries can have a cascading effect on our children. As we know, an increasing number of children are experiencing stress, anxiety and unease. Children need support when learning how to regulate their emotions, as well as tools and learning strategies to work through these feelings effectively.
Use this video in conjunction with our Worry Waterfall Poster. The Worry Waterfall encourages students to deal with worrying thoughts and problems effectively by recognising worries they can and cannot control. The video guides students through a step-by-step process of decision-making and taking action, as outlined as follows:
- Notice the worry.
- Consider if anything can be done to make the worry go away.
- Either take action by making a plan (and acting on it), or if the worry is out of their control, let it go.
- Reflect on how they feel now they have let go of the worry.
