10 Craft Activities to Use For Hallway Bulletin Boards This School Year
Are you using crafts on your bulletin boards? If you aren't, this may be the school year to start!
Adding a craft element to your bulletin board — especially a school hallway bulletin board — gives you a chance to show off your students' work, and it also reduces the total amount of decorating you have to do. It's a win-win!
Here are just a few of our team's favorite crafts to use for bulletin boards:
- Back to School Bulletin Board — Print out our Funky Apple Back to School craft template for your bulletin board, and challenge students to write about one important thing they learned over the summer.
- Science Bulletin Board — Use our funky scientist craftivity (it's got a Zentangle element), and have your students write their own rules for the science classroom.
- March Bulletin Board Idea — Has March Madness taken hold of your school? Lean in with a bit of "math madness" with our printable math basketball craft, and show your spirit on your bulletin board.
- Grandparents' Day Bulletin Board — Download our Grandparents Rock craft template, and challenge students to write about their grandparent. Holding a grandparents tea? Students can invite their special someone to view their work on your bulletin board!
- November Bulletin Board Idea — Print our free "bound to be thanked" craft printable (it's free!), and have students write thoughtful messages of thanks to school staff members. As staff pass by throughout the month of November, they can open the flap for a lovely surprise.
- Another November Bulletin Board Idea — Use our printable sugar skull mask craft templates while teaching students about calaveras, short and silly poems often written around Dia de los Muertos. Students can decorate their own masks for you to hang up for the Day of the Dead, along with their own calaveras.
- January Bulletin Board Idea — It might be cold outside, but there's plenty to warm the heart when you have students fill out our End of Year Review glyph before winter break. Hang the completed crafts on your bulletin board, and take the time to read through them yourself as a reminder of the incredible impact you've already had on your class. This is a great board to keep up throughout the month of January, especially if your school holds parent-teacher conferences during the first month of the year!
- Another January Bulletin Board Idea — Use our printable New Years writing crafivity, and challenge students to write their goals for the year. Hang the crafts on your bulletin board to inspire other students.
- April Bulletin Board Idea — April showers bring us Earth month, and our recycling craft template printable is a great way to get students thinking about — and writing about — ways to recycle and reuse items. Put all the crafts together on your bulletin board, and you have the perfect April bulletin board to celebrate Earth Day at the end of the month.
- Spring Bulletin Board Idea — Celebrate spring and teach students about life cycles with a butterfly craft! Our printable accordion book covers the stages of life that a butterfly goes through — from egg to fully formed butterfly — and it makes for an eye-catching display in the spring.
