What to Do on Easter in the Classroom

Easter is a religious holiday, so you may want to avoid specific Easter festivities in order to maintain a secular learning environment and avoid any potential conflicts with families of different faiths or beliefs. Here's how to appropriately celebrate this time of year.

Focus on spring. Bunnies and chicks may be associated with Easter, but these symbols are also specific to spring and offer plenty of inspiration for classroom crafts and activities that are spring-themed!
Introduce bunnies to your mammal lessons. Teaching about mammals? Bring bunnies into the mix, teaching students about the animal, its habitat, place in the food chain, etc.
Incorporate Easter egg hunts into your lessons. You don't have to decorate Easter eggs (and let's face it — that's quite messy anyway).
