Explore 3-digit numbers with this cute foldable peacock number expander for your students.
3-Digit Numbers in Expanded Form
Teaching children to read and write numbers up to 1,000 can be tricky to understand; it’s not just writing the numbers correctly but also understanding the place value of each of those singular numbers. This super adorable and engaging foldable bat template will have your students exploring 3-digit place values in a fun way!
Students will record a 3-digit number in the following ways:
- as a digit
- in expanded form
- using base tens
- as hundreds, tens, and ones.
After recording their expanded numbers, ask the students to decorate their peacocks and cut them out. Instruct the students to then fold in the wings to make a 3-digit number expander.
Create a 3-Digit Math Display
