3rd Grade Grammar Review Made Easy!

If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to review Common Core language standards for 3rd grade, these 3rd grade grammar review task cards may be just what you need!

This set of 24 grammar review task cards has been designed by the Teach Starter team to support your students in revising 3rd grade grammar concepts such as:

  • Verb use and tense
  • Subject-verb agreement
  • Conjunctions
  • Plural nouns
  • Spelling

This resource downloads as a full-color PDF or editable Google Slides file. Both files contain:

  • 24 x task cards
  • Student recording sheet
  • Answer sheet

Multiple Uses for These 3rd Grade Grammar Review Task Cards

While these task cards make a great independent learning activity, they can be used in lots of other ways, too! Read on for some suggestions from our teacher team:

  • Partner Quiz – Give each student a task card. Students pair up and quiz each other using their cards. After both answer, they trade cards and find new partners. This game gets everyone talking and learning from each other.
  • Around the World – A student stands behind a seated classmate. The teacher reads a grammar question from a task card. The first of the two students to answer correctly moves on to the next desk. The goal is to make it “around the world” (around the classroom).
  • Team Trivia Challenge – Divide the students into mixed-ability teams and provide each team with a recording sheet. Read the cards out in turn, then give students time to answer the questions in their teams.
