Looking for an Absolute Value Game?

Do your students need additional practice with absolute value? Why not plan for a fun game of Bingo to reinforce this 6th-grade math skill? Students will be able to review math concepts while having fun at the same time! This Bingo game includes 26 Bingo cards, 24 calling cards, and an answer key.

Through this activity, students will show they understand the absolute value of a rational number as its distance from 0 on the number line and solve equations using absolute value.

How to Use our Absolute Value Bingo Game

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your math lessons. 

To play:

  1. Provide each student with a game board and counters as board markers.
  2. Pull a calling card from the stack, read it aloud, or place it under a document camera for all students to see. 
  3. Students will determine the absolute value or solve the absolute value equation and attempt to locate the answer on their game board.
  4. The first student to cover five numbers across, down, or diagonally is the winner!

If you want to make this game more challenging for your students, consider using the editable version and adding more complex equations and answers.
