Looking for Acrostic Poem Examples for Students?
An acrostic poem is a poem where the first letters on each line of the poem spell out the subject of the poem. Here is an acrostic poem example:
S somewhere out there
P ast the stars
A liens are watching
C ounting the seconds before
E ntering our world!
In this example, the letters of the word “SPACE” are used to write a cute poem about aliens.
Acrostic poems are a great choice for introducing students to structured poetry. They can be about any topic, have a very easy structure to follow and don’t typically rhyme.
