Sail Away With this Fun Mystery Picture Reveal using Addition Within 1000

Developing a strong understanding of addition is crucial to thinking mathematically. To engage students in solving addition problems to the thousands place and to enhance their problem-solving, we’ve designed this worksheet that utilises the bar model strategy. This worksheet not only reinforces addition proficiency but also adds an element of excitement by revealing a mystery picture upon completion.

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

What is the Strip Diagram Strategy?

The strip diagram strategy, also known as the bar model strategy, uses rectangular bars to represent numbers and operations visually. It enables students to break down addition problems and visualize the relationships between the numbers. Using this visual representation, students can grasp the concepts of regrouping, place value, and the overall addition structure.
