Writing About Smoke Alarms – The Perfect Activity for Fire Prevention Week!

When it comes to teaching students how to write a new text type, experienced teachers know that scaffolding is the key to success!

Our experienced teacher team has designed this scaffolding writing activity to help your students write an information report about smoke alarms, making it perfect for use during Fire Prevention Month! With this resource, students are guided through writing complete sentences from dot points (contained in the fact file) and then using those sentences to construct a full text. Students should be encouraged to add any additional relevant facts they know about smoke alarms to their report.
