Discuss different situations and when students should ask for help.
🗣️ Discussion Cards – Asking for Help
Helping your students understand when to ask for help is a crucial social and emotional skill that empowers them to overcome challenges and succeed. One effective strategy to help your students grasp this concept is to use discussion cards featuring real-life scenarios. These discussion cards serve as prompts to stimulate thoughtful conversations and promote critical thinking among your students. Some of the scenarios included in these cards include:
- You are really hungry after school. You want to eat noodles but don’t know how to work the stove. Should you ask for help?
- You are playing soccer at playtime. You trip and scrape your leg. It doesn’t hurt, and you’re not bleeding. Should you ask for help?
- You are working on addition in math. The worksheet looks hard today, but you haven’t started yet? Should you ask for help?
