Groundhog Day Lesson Plan Ideas for 2nd, 3rd and 4th Grades
Looking for some simple ideas to build your Groundhog Day lesson plans?

Students can then spend time creating their groundhogs with the template, coloring in the fur, adding googly eyes and more. Hang their completed Groundhog Day projects on your student work board, and you’ve got a holiday-appropriate display all done!
Teaching 3rd grade? Explain where groundhogs live as part of your next habitats lesson. Direct your class to use the template to create reports with details about the groundhog’s environment and adaptations.
Fourth grade teachers, we’ve got you covered too. Print out this writing template to provide space for students to write about their own weather predictions!s Have your students observe current weather conditions and make their own predictions for the next day, connecting them to the official groundhog’s prediction.
When their projects are complete, why not set up a gallery walk where students can view each other’s groundhog reports and crafts?
