Differentiating This Captions Game
This matching game helps students understand how captions work by directly pairing visual elements with appropriate descriptive or explanatory text.
This matching game can be used as a whole-class, small-group, pair or independent activity. Here’s how you can differentiate this captions game to support all learners:
- Support less confident students by using fewer card pairs to simplify the activity and reduce cognitive load. Provide hints or guide students in identifying matches.
- Extend more confident students by challenging them to write a different caption for a selection of images from the matching game.
