Discover States, Properties, and Changes in Matter With Differentiated Worksheets
This Differentiated Matter Worksheet Pack includes four engaging worksheets tailored for different age groups, helping students practice identifying states of matter, understanding the properties of solids, liquids, and gases, and exploring changes like melting, freezing, and evaporation. Each worksheet is designed to build on students’ knowledge, starting with basic concepts for younger learners and progressing to more advanced concepts for older students. The worksheets included are described below:
- States of Matter: Solids and Liquids Worksheet – Designed for younger grades, this worksheet focuses solely on solids and liquids. It requires students to label objects as solid or liquid and predict changes in materials if heat was added or removed.
- States of Matter: Solids, Liquids, and Gases Worksheet – Designed for older students, this worksheet focuses on all three states of matter. Students will also identify whether adding heat or removing heat causes a particular change in a substance.
- Observing Properties of Matter Worksheet – Designed for younger students, this worksheet focuses on having students observe the properties of texture and flexibility in different examples of matter.
- Changing States Worksheet—This worksheet is for older students. Students are provided with a known substance and instructed to add or remove heat. Then, they must predict the change.
