Use research and creative writing skills to design a social media profile for fiction or nonfiction persons.

Create a Social Network with Our Character Profile Sheet

This is a single-page writing worksheet in which students will connect their knowledge of social media and creative writing to design a personal profile. 

The figure your students write about can be a fictional character described through the events in a narrative text or a real person presented from investigative research.  

Students will complete their profile by drawing pictures and writing about significant life events, including their education, work, and important relationships. In addition, students will include their persona’s: 

  • Likes
  • Posts
  • Famous quotes
  • Check-ins

By completing this activity, students demonstrate an ability to describe in detail another person’s actions, thoughts, or feelings to develop real or imagined experiences or events.

In addition to individual student work time, use this worksheet to inspire students to study a historical figure during Black History Month and Women’s History Month as a:

How to Prepare This Resource

You can also turn this teaching resource into a sustainable activity! Print a few copies on cardstock and slip them into dry-erase sleeves. Students can record their answers with a dry-erase marker, then erase and reuse. 

Additionally, work on the profile as a group by projecting the worksheet onto a whiteboard. Have students come up to the board to fill in specific areas or take suggestions as a class discussion.
