Columbus Day Activities for Kindergarten and First Grade
Are you looking for Columbus Day activities? If so, you’re in the right place! We have created an excellent Columbus Day activity book for first-grade and kindergarten students. Use this mini-book for an interactive read-aloud or shared writing activity during the weeks surrounding Columbus Day.
This printable book provides students with opportunities to read predictable text, use context clues to determine word usage, and develop knowledge surrounding U.S. National holidays. Along with the many benefits and ease of using printable books, students will develop their language and expand their vocabulary.
Use Printable Books to Write Columbus Day Lesson Plans
We created this resource for circle time and reading lessons. In addition, we suggest these alternative uses to reinforce reading skills and new vocabulary words with your small group and full-class lessons:
- Print on cardstock and assemble a small set of books for a reading center activity where students read the books to each other as partners.
- Complete a booklet, print a copy for each student, and have them read to an adult at home.
