Escape from Comma Castle is an engaging and exciting Comma Escape Room challenge! The evil wizard has locked your students inside a spooky medieval stronghold. The only way out? Mastering comma rules!
From items in a series to coordinating conjunctions and introductory phrases, students must solve ELA-based puzzles and decipher clues. Every correct answer reveals critical letters and numbers to crack the code and escape. Will they make it out, or will they be trapped inside Comma Castle forever?
How To Use This ELA Escape Room Activity
This ELA Escape Room Activity is quick and easy to set up and complete! Here are some helpful tips and tricks to get you started.
- Assign your escape room students to small groups of 2-3. Print a workbook booklet for each group (or one for each student, if you prefer). Have them cut apart the pages, arrange them in order, and staple them into booklets.
- Use your school’s LMS system to assign the ELA Escape Room Activity via Google Classroom, etc. Upload the PowerPoint or Slides file to your LMS and set it to make a copy for each student.
- Project Slide 2 in presentation mode and introduce the escape game to the students.
- Have students open the file on their device and place the slides in EDIT mode.
- Students will begin their quest using the puzzles in the slide deck.. As they work through the problems on screen and work through the workbook, they will reveal a series of letters and numbers needed to escape.
- Once a challenge has been solved, students will move to the next challenge.
- Play continues in this manner until groups escape from Comma Castle!
