Practice comparing and ordering decimals to the thousandths place with an exciting game of Kaboom!
Decimal Games for 5th Grade
Have your students been working on comparing and ordering decimals? If you are looking to add a bit of competitive fun into your classroom, look no further! Teach Starter has designed an engaging Kaboom! Activity that your students can complete in small groups to sharpen their decimal comparison and ordering skills.
This decimal activity is designed for easy storage and use. We’ve included a label for you to use to identify the game while stored in a cylindrical chip can.
Through this activity, students will practice comparing and ordering decimals through the thousandths place.
How to Play our Kaboom! Decimal Game
To play, students will take turns drawing a card from the can and answering the question on the card. If they can answer the question correctly, they get to keep the card. If the student answers incorrectly, the card returns to the can. When a student draws a Kaboom card, all of the student’s earned cards go back into the container. The Kaboom card is then set to the side. Play continues until all of the question cards have been answered.
