Toss the Worksheet on Contractions!

It’s time to ditch the contraction worksheets! Get your students engaged, having fun, and enjoying grammar class with a round of dominoes. This contraction domino game is the perfect way to help them practice identifying contractions and their full-word versions.

The cards feature a variety of contractions—including wasn’t, didn’t, we’re, they’re, haven’t, can’t.— and their corresponding full-word forms.

🎲To play, students use traditional domino rules, matching the full version of each contraction with its matching contraction.

Through this activity, students will show an increased understanding of contractions in the English language.
