Use these fact family houses worksheet set to practice addition and subtraction fact families with your students.
🏠 Fact Families Cut and Paste Worksheets 🏠
This set of 5 cut-and-paste leveled worksheets will help students understand fact families and use the relationship between addition and subtraction as a strategy.
To complete the tasks,. students will cut out the numbers at the bottom of the page and paste them on the correct line for each number sentence. Alternatively, use it as a regular worksheet with students writing in the missing numbers and crossing them off the list at the bottom of the page.
Through this activity, students will show their ability to extend and apply knowledge of addition and subtraction facts and develop efficient mental strategies for computation.
Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding
A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your math lessons.
In addition to individual student work time, use this activity to enhance learning through guided maths groups, whole class lessons, or homework assignments.
If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners and ELL/ESL students, we have a few suggestions for keeping students on track with these concepts:
🆘 Support Struggling Students
Use this resource in a small group by providing guided instruction. The teacher can model the correct answers and then students can follow along. If cut & paste is too difficult, students can write the numbers on the line using the numbers at the bottom as a guide.
➕ Challenge Fast Finishers
Ask fast-finishing students to create their own fact families and number sentences using the last worksheet in the pack, which is blank.
Easily Download & Print
Use the dropdown icon on the Download button to choose between the PDF or Google Slides version of this resource.
Because this resource includes an answer sheet, we recommend you print one copy of the entire file. Then, make photocopies of the blank worksheet for students to complete.
To save paper, we suggest printing this 2-page worksheet double-sided.
Turn this teaching resource into a sustainable activity by printing on cardboard and slipping it into a write-and-wipe sleeve. Students can record their answers with a whiteboard marker, then erase and reuse.
Additionally, project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks.
