- Letter cards
Ways to Use This Differentiated CVC Blending Mat
This versatile resource is designed to meet the varying needs and skill levels of your students. If your students are at the phonemic awareness stage, where letter-sound correspondence is not yet introduced, you can use the picture cards for auditory activities.
- Have students select a picture card.
- Ask them to identify the first sound in the word.
- Then, prompt them for the second sound.
- Finally, ask for the last sound, tapping each box on the slide as you go.
- Afterward, guide the students to blend the three sounds together.
If your students are ready – you can incorporate the word cards and letter cards as an extra level of understanding is unlocked.
