Ways to Use These Debatable Topics for Kids in the Classroom

  • Whole-Class Debates – Pick a card, split the class into two teams, and assign each side a viewpoint. Let students prepare their arguments and present them in a structured debate.
  • Think-Pair-Share – Students select a flashcard, take a stance, and discuss their reasoning with a partner before sharing with the class.
  • Quick-Fire Rounds – Set a timer and challenge students to argue their side of a debate topic in just 30 seconds to develop confidence in speaking on the spot.
  • Debate Tournament – Organize a mini debate competition using the flashcards, where students compete in rounds and refine their persuasive skills.
