Practice Decimal Operations with a Fun Math Mat!
Are you looking for an engaging math enrichment task for your fifth graders? Perhaps you have just finished your unit on decimal operations, or maybe you are reviewing for an end-of-year assessment? Once your students have learned about how to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals, this would be a great time to introduce Teach Starter’s math mats to your students!
This set of three decimal operations math mats has everything you need to keep your students engaged while practicing those important computation skills with decimals. It includes a range of puzzle-based activities such as:
- Color-by-number
- Word scrambles
- Word searches
- Plot on the number lines
- Choose the correct solution
- And many more!
Students can be given different mats so they don’t have the same mat as the student sitting next to them. If students have time, they can complete multiple mats and color as many of the details as they would like.
These decimal operations math mats download as a printable PDF or editable Google Slides file. An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!
Multiple Uses for These Decimal Operations Math Mats
These versatile math mats can be used in multiple ways to reinforce decimal operations concepts with your students. They can be used for:
- Morning work
- Fast finishers
- Lesson wrap-up
- Test revision
- Homework
When finished, these can also be displayed on a bulletin board in the classroom.
As there are three mats with varying activities, this allows teachers to choose the mat most appropriate for each student. Why not allow students to work with a fellow classmate to make the activity more collaborative? Children love working with a friend to achieve a shared goal!
