Cut and Paste > Fun Guide Words Worksheet Set

These worksheets have been created for students to practise their understanding of using guide words to quickly and easily find words in the dictionary. In this set of five worksheets, students need to look at a word, go to their dictionary and work out what guide words would be used and then find those words and cut and glue them above each of the words provided.

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Should Dictionary Skills Still be Taught?

Yes! Dictionary skills are still important for your students to learn. Despite the prevalence of digital devices and search engines, there are many situations where a physical dictionary may still be the best resource for finding information. Additionally, using a dictionary can help students to develop their vocabulary, spelling, and comprehension skills.

Using guide words in a dictionary can be particularly useful for students who need to look up multiple words or are working on a research project.
