Printable Number Pattern Worksheets

This set of three worksheets has students filling in the blank numbers to complete number patterns, completing in/out tables, and reading a number pattern word problem.

The versions are broken down as follows:

  • Circle Version
    • counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s
    • in/out tables with +4 and -3 rules
  • Triangle Verison
    • counting by 2’s, 3’s, and 10’s
    • in/out tables with +30 and -15 rules
  • Square Version
    • off-multiple patterns +5, +10, and -3
    • in/out tables with +11 and -6 rules

Each worksheet also includes a bonus question where students need to interpret the word problem and fill out a table to reach the final answer.

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to individual student work time, use this worksheet as a:

  • Guided math groups
  • Lesson warm-up
  • Lesson wrap-up
  • Fast finishers
  • Homework assignment
  • Whole-class review (via smartboard)

Have more capable students complete the square version of this resource and ask them to create a word problem for one of the patterns used in the other questions of the worksheet.

Students who need extra support can complete the circle version of this worksheet. As the numbers on this worksheet are all less than 100, provide them with a hundred chart as a way to display the worksheet’s number patterns in a visual way.
