Diversity Activities

I Have a Dream Craft

Drawing inspiration from Martin Luther King, Jr., use the hand and heart templates for students to write down their hopes and dreams for the world.

“What A Wonderful World” Unity Wreath

Celebrate the skin we live in! Invite students to take a hand and color it to match their skin tone. Assemble the hands into a circle shape and hang it as a wreath on your classroom door. Decorate the heart like a globe and place it in the center!

World Flags

Turn the hearts into flags! Students can research their family origins and recreate the national flag they most identify with. Use the heart flags as a bulletin board banner or create a pennant by gluing them to a ribbon.

Back to School

Use the heart as a speech bubble where students can write their name, age, and favorite things. Then, they decorate the paper doll to look like themselves. Display their creations so the heart is above their head as a thought.
