Master the ability to divide fractions with a whole-class bingo game.
Math Games for 6th Grade
Are you looking for additional math games to add to your teacher toolkit? Math games can be helpful in several ways. They can make learning math more engaging and enjoyable for children, increasing their motivation to learn and improving their attitude toward math.
Math games can also provide opportunities for children to practice and apply math skills in a low-pressure, fun environment. This can help them develop confidence and fluency in math and increase their ability to think critically and problem-solve.
If you are looking for a whole-class activity for your students to practice this fractional computation skill, look no further! Teach Starter has created a bingo game, complete with 24 unique playing cards, to help your students improve their understanding of dividing fractions
To play, distribute one card to each student and a set of counters to cover the game board spaces. Display one of the calling cards to the students and encourage them to find the quotient. Once students find the correct answer on their bingo card, they must cover it with a counting chip or marker. The first student to get a bingo configuration on their card wins!
Through this activity, students will show they can divide fractions and represent the answer in simplest form.
Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding
A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your math lessons.
In addition to individual student work time, use this bingo game to enhance learning through guided math groups, whole class lessons, or remote learning assignments.
If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:
🆘 Support Struggling Students
Help students who need help understanding the concepts by providing a multiplication chart to help with basic facts. Additionally, consider giving students some problems to solve before the game to provide them with more time to calculate each quotient.
➕ Challenge Fast Finishers
