We’re Going on an Egg Hunt – Letter Recognition Game

Create a fun Easter egg hunt with a difference. Students show their knowledge of both uppercase and lowercase letters as they go searching for pictures of Easter eggs behind letters. This Easter game requires minimal prep or resources. You can either use a pocket chart or simply place the egg behind the letter cards on the floor.

How to Play

  1. Player one or the teacher hides an egg behind a letter.
  2. Players take turns guessing which letter the gg is hidden behind by saying a letter name out loud.
  3. When a player guesses correctly, they keep the egg and hide a new egg.
  4. Play continues until all eggs are found!

This letter game is a great way for students to practice their instant recognition of lowercase and uppercase letters, an important early literacy skill.
