Author’s Purpose Handout Brochure Template

This Author’s Purpose handout in the form of a brochure template has been created as an engaging and practical way to help students understand why authors write. This template is a fantastic learning tool that allows students to record and reflect on the three main purposes of writing:

  • To persuade
  • To inform
  • To entertain

Having this knowledge helps students to become active readers as they can better interpret the meaning, tone and structure of any given text.
