A Variety of Ways to Use Your Gingerbread Disguise Template
This versatile resource is designed to be used with both upper and lower-level students. Here are some options for implementing this project in your classroom.
- Preschool Project – Make copies of the already-disguised gingerbread boy and girl found on the last page of your download. Cut them apart and have students use crayons, oil pastels, watercolour, or even glitter to decorate their gingerbread cookies. You can also use these as coloring pages or fun decorative elements for a bulletin board.
- Primary Grades School-to-Home Family Project – Send home the family project letter, along with one of the blank gingerbread cookie templates. Encourage students to work with their families to disguise their gingerbread man and return him to school. From there, you can display your students’ adorable projects however you like!
- Upper Grades In-Class Art & Writing Task- Provide students with the student letter and one of the blank gingerbread templates. Introduce the project and hold a class discussion about how students could disguise their gingerbread men. From there, have them disguise their template using their preferred materials. To add a curriculum-aligned component, add in one of the fun narrative writing prompt pages and have your students write to tell a fun Christmas tale.
This project includes a variety of resources to help you implement the Disguise a Gingerbread Man project in your classroom with students of any age. This creative project has no limit, so your students can get as creative as they want while disguising their gingerbread men.
