What Do Kids Learn in Kindergarten? 1st Grade? 2nd?

It’s a question you hear from parents every year and one that isn’t the easiest to answer. Based on which state you’re located in and which curriculum is followed, students across the country learn different things and have different end-of-year goals. For parents who like to stay informed about their student’s learning goals and teachers who are asked for that information, we’ve created a handy teacher/parent communication tool to help share grade-level goals with ease!

Share Grade Level Goals for Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade!

This set of printable grade-level goal grids is the perfect tool to share with students and send home at the beginning of the school year. Using these tools, you can provide students and parents with a detailed overview of the major concepts taught in ELA and Math during the school year. Based on the current Common Core State Standards, the included goal grids are designed for Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second-grade students.

We have included the following grade-level goal grids in this resource download:

  • Kindergarten Goals – ELA/Math Skills 2-in-one goal grid
  • 1st Grade Math Goals
  • 1st Grade ELA/Reading Goals
  • 2nd Grade Math Goals
  • 2nd Grade ELA/Reading Goals

These templates are fully editable and can be modified if you use a different curriculum. To to this, you’ll need to download the Google Slides resource file.
