You’ll ♥️ Our Grammar Practice Worksheets!

Are your students struggling with remembering their parts of speech? What about the meaning of commonly used words and phrases? It sounds like they need a bit more practice with those content-specific grammar-related vocabulary words, and we’re here to help!

With this resource, students will work to identify parts of speech and commonly used word types and sort them into three categories – the vocabulary term, its definition, and an example of the term in context. The worksheets included contain two versions of the activity, described as follows.

  • Version 1 – Parts of Speech Cut and Sort – This worksheet has students matching parts of speech with their definitions and examples of each part of speech in a sentence. The words included are: noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb, preposition, conjunction and interjection.
  • Version 2 – Grammar Vocabulary Cut and Sort – This worksheet blends a variety of word types that students are familiar with. They will match each term, its definition, and an example of the term used in a sentence. Vocabulary terms included are: synonym, antonym, homophone, simile, metaphor, idiom, hyperbole and contraction.
