If you’re a new teacher, you’re in for an exciting experience that goes beyond traditional classroom lessons. Red Ribbon Week is an annual event promoting drug awareness, making healthy choices, and saying NO to drugs. It’s a week when schools nationwide unite to educate and empower students about the importance of a drug-free life.

You’ll witness an explosion of creativeness, confidence, and meaningful conversations during Red Ribbon Week. Students experience themed dress-up days, engage in team-building activities, and do projects and crafts, reinforcing the message of making healthy life choices. As a new teacher, you’ll play a vital role in promoting a positive and supportive environment for your students during this special week. The Teach Starter team has created a fun, new interactive game to help you get started on those Red Ribbon Week lesson plans!

Interactive Red Ribbon Activities – Elementary Level

This interactivity is an eye-catching, thought-provoking Google Slides game with scenarios or pictures about making healthy and unhealthy choices. Each scenario depicts a situation where the player has to decide whether the choice presented is healthy or hurtful regarding drug use and overall physical/mental health.

After completing the game, encourage your students to discuss their choices. Encourage them to reflect on the importance of making healthy decisions and the consequences of hurtful ones.

This interactive game makes learning about healthy choices enjoyable and promotes critical thinking and decision-making skills. It’s an engaging way to reinforce the message of Red Ribbon Week and empower students to make informed, drug-free choices.
