Use these postcard templates in the classroom to bring in the Christmas season with a lesson or two on writing holiday letters to loved ones. When teaching and learning how to write a postcard, encourage your students to include the following:
- an informal greeting
- a brief description of an exciting event or the best part of their imaginary trip
- a note about the weather
- the date (optional)
- a closing phrase.

- Use them as Christmas writing prompts for narrative writing. Have your students write a postcard to send home while they are on an imaginary trip to the North Pole.
- Practice holiday card writing and random acts of kindness by creating holiday messages for other teachers or adults in the school.
