Show off your students’ pledges to be drug-free with a printable Red Ribbon Week craft and writing template.
What is Red Ribbon Week? When is Red Ribbon Week?
Red Ribbon Week is a remarkable time when we come together as a community to celebrate healthy choices, learn about the risks of drugs, and promise to stay drug-free. It all began in 1985 as a way to observe the memory of Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, a courageous man who worked to make our communities free from drugs.
During Red Ribbon Week, we wear red ribbons to show our dedication to a drug-free life and to inspire others to do the same. It’s a time for us to stand up against the dangerous effects of drugs and alcohol and pick a path that leads to a brighter and healthier future.
Printable Red Ribbon Week Activities
To make Red Ribbon Week even more special, grab some basic supplies and have your students create their own drug-free pledge red ribbons! This fun craft project is perfect for a quick yet meaningful Red Ribbon Week lesson.
Students will then use the included writing template to express why they choose to stay drug-free and how they plan to make healthy choices. Students will write a short paragraph explaining their commitments and goals. Finally, you can display these fantastic (and inspirational) projects with the whole school on your bulletin board.
