Colors Game for Identifying Different Colors

This fun and engaging color game is the perfect color activity to use with children prior to school to assist them with identifying and sorting different colors. Young children gain a lot of great skills when they can master identifying different colors including:

  • Enhanced cognitive development.
  • Expanded vocabulary and a great tool to be able to describe objects.
  • Helps students to express themselves in creative ways through visual arts.
  • Colors are also a great way to represent different emotions. For example, red for anger, blue for sadness.

How to Use this Color Activity in the Classroom

Laminate the colored gumball machines and the set of everyday colored object cards. Ask the children to match the objects to their color by sorting the cards into the gumball machine of the same color.

This sorting game includes the following colors:

  • red
  • blue
  • yellow
  • purple
  • green
  • orange
