Use this set of differentiated worksheets to help students practise the process involved with identifying lines of symmetry on two-dimensional shapes.
Differentiated Lines of Symmetry Worksheets
Tailor your teaching with this set of differentiated lines of symmetry worksheets. This pack of three worksheets is leveled so that you can engage learners at all levels in your geometry lesson about lines of symmetry.
Each worksheet is labelled with a ‘star’ rating (but sshhh, the students don’t have to know!) so you can easily mix it up, challenging students who are of a high ability, and catering to students who are still yet to grasp the interesting concept of lines of symmetry!
An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy.
Through completion of this task students will demonstrate an ability to identify one or more lines of symmetry in a given shape.
Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding
In addition to individual student work time, use this worksheet as a:
- Math centers
- lesson exit ticket
- fast finisher activity
- homework assignment
- whole-class review (via smartboard)
To make this activity more challenging, ask your higher-ability learners to create their own challenge questions!
For those students who need extra support, assign the lowest level of difficulty (one star), and guide students through a problem before working independently.
Easily Download & Print
Use the dropdown icon on the Download button to choose between the PDF or Google Slides version of this resource.
Because this resource includes an answer sheet, we recommend you print one copy of the entire file. Then, make photocopies of the blank worksheet for students to complete.
Additionally, project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks.
